Fantastic, Barbara! Yes, I've been a huge fan of WeAre.xyz as well for pretty much the same reasons. You'll find a whole cohort of us lurking around the corners here on Substack. My family is very private, and getting them to engage has been painful. I took advantage of the per-user-account configuration in WeAre to ensure that we could keep posts and the archive private while giving everyone access.
Ya know... Simon Davies of WeAre is frequently a lurker here on Substack. Keep an eye out 👀.
Hi Barbara, one of your subscribers and another WeAre.xyz devotee sent me your post. It made me beam as I headed out on the school run - thank you. If you're ever interested in a zoom to chat about what you're doing, look at some examples etc, I'd be delighted. Would love your thoughts on what we have coming too. Thanks you again xx
I have been a WeAre.xyz user for well over 2 years now and have been so thrilled with all the ways to share my family history with family and friends in a way that they can engage with actively if they choose. All the options for sharing what could be dry documents turned into archival stories and visual images. What I especially love is that it allows me to pull all my resources "under one roof" from storage of photos and documents, writing family history stories, sharing special occasions or writing about artifacts, mapping, blogging, it is so versatile and offers the ability for my archive to be preserved for the future. Simon and his development team are always willing and interested to hear suggestions about features you would like to see added with new features being added regularly. So glad you found it too! There is a fb page if you would enjoy interacting with other users at https://www.facebook.com/groups/weare.xyz
I can't agree more @Barbara Jean May. I am hooked on weare.xyz as well. I have been using it for around two and half years and have two family history archives and a one-place study on the platform. It is ideal for pulling together a range of research and preserving it for future generations.
Jane, I was also going to do a OPS with it for Biezun, Poland! It seems absolutely perfect for that! I also have a ONS underway (like I said, a ton of projects) that I am going to use WeAre for. All this should keep me busy this summer!
Yes, I agree. The OPS version of the weare.xyz platform is ideal for OPS' - I can't recommend it enough. Did you know that you can use homepage links (in Settings) on a Substack publication to link direct to your WeAre Archive (assuming it is public and you want to link to it)? I have done that within the body of my Family History publication on Substack (BJNL's Genealogy) and via a Tab on the Navigator bar on my Kyeburn Diggings OPS Substack Publication. You can see what I mean re the OPS here: https://kyeburndiggingsops.substack.com/
I took a cursory look at WeAre.XYZ, but haven't done anything with it yet because I'm eyebrow-deep in projects right now. (I really must learn to say, "No.") It's on my list to investigate further when I'm done with these projects. My clock is ticking, too -- I'm 79, and my older daughter isn't that interested in genealogy, and the younger one has cancer and will most likely predecease me and my husband. I'm trying to get my grandson interested; he does like to hear family stories, but I don't know that his interest goes beyond that.
WeAre has users from all over the world! It is one of the really enjoyable things about the fb group, interacting with people from different countries.

I would love to get his feedback! Thanks Barb!

I’m so sorry Karen. I lost my only sister in 2023 to cancer. ((Hugs))
Do you know if this an app for mainly US users?
Hi Lesley! No, it is a global platform.
